Group Organiser Guidelines

As a group organiser on Active Locals, you play a vital role in shaping a positive, safe, and welcoming community. By creating a group, you agree to the following guidelines:

1. Promote Inclusivity and Respect

  • Ensure your group is welcoming and inclusive to all members, regardless of background, ability, or experience.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment free from harassment, hate speech, or discrimination.
  • Actively address any behaviour that violates group values.

2. Communicate Clearly and Consistently

  • Set clear event expectations for attendance, safety, and behaviour.
  • Use accurate event details (location, time, requirements) and update members promptly if plans change.
  • Keep group chats respectful and on-topic.

3. Be a Responsible Leader

  • Take ownership of your group’s culture and safety.
  • Appoint co-organisers or admins if needed to help manage the group.
  • Handle conflicts fairly and report serious issues to Active Locals if necessary.

4. Prioritise Member Safety

  • Do not tolerate harmful or unsafe behaviour.
  • For physical activities, remind members to participate within their ability and that they join at their own risk.
  • Follow local laws and safety regulations for events.

5. Respect Platform Rules

  • No commercial activities or promotions are allowed unless explicitly allowed by Active Locals.
  • Do not collect or misuse members' personal data.
  • Report inappropriate content or behaviour promptly.

6. Protect the Community's Trust

  • Represent your group authentically: Avoid misleading descriptions or false claims.
  • Keep events and discussions respectful of diverse opinions.
  • Remove disruptive members if their actions harm the group environment.

7. Follow Content and Copyright Rules

  • Only share content (photos, videos, music) that you have permission to use.
  • Obtain member consent before sharing group photos publicly.

8. Respond to Member Feedback

  • Listen to member concerns and be open to improving their experience.
  • Resolve conflicts respectfully and escalate serious issues to Active Locals’ support.

By creating a group, you confirm that you:

  • Have read and agree to these Group Organiser Guidelines.
  • Will uphold Active Locals’ Community Values and Terms of Service.
  • Understand that failure to follow these guidelines may result in group suspension or account termination.
