About the Group

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!

Surfers Paradise parkrun is a free, friendly community event held every Saturday morning at 7 AM at HOTA (Home of the Arts), located at 135 Bundall Road, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast. This 5-kilometer timed run or walk welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels, from walkers and joggers to serious runners. The course is a two-lap route around Evandale Lake within the HOTA precinct, featuring mostly flat terrain with a short incline on Green Bridge, offering a balanced challenge suitable for beginners and experienced runners alike. The event promotes inclusivity and social connection, encouraging people to participate for fun, fitness, or training. After the run, participants often gather for a casual coffee meet-up, fostering community camaraderie. Registration is required only once via the parkrun website, after which runners simply bring their barcode to every event. Surfers Paradise parkrun is especially popular with locals and tourists, including many marathon visitors. It operates rain or shine, and the mostly paved path ensures a smooth experience even after wet weather. This event is part of the global parkrun movement aimed at boosting health and social wellbeing through accessible local running communities.
