The Man Walk Cessnock
About the Group
✨
The Man Walk Cessnock is a free, weekly men's walking group that meets every Saturday at 7:00 am at Bridges Hill Carpark, Cessnock, NSW. It offers a supportive, inclusive environment where men aged 18 and over can come together to walk, talk, and support each other in a relaxed and pressure-free setting. The initiative is designed to promote both physical activity and mental wellbeing by encouraging open conversations about any issues participants may be facing, fostering connection and mutual support among men of all ages and fitness levels. Led by local volunteer “Manbassadors,” the walks also provide an opportunity to develop friendships and reduce social isolation. Each walk typically lasts around 60 to 90 minutes, concluding with a post-walk social coffee. The Man Walk is part of a broader national movement operating in over 80 locations across Australia, emphasizing the importance of mental health, community connection, and active lifestyles for men. This Cessnock group embodies these values by providing safe outdoor exercise and camaraderie in the local Hunter Valley region. The Man Walk supports men's mental health with no barriers to participation, making it welcoming for beginners through to advanced walkers.
