About the Group

A Sydney institution. We start in the dark. Saturdays 5am sharp. Running in circles since 2016

The 440 is a free, community-driven run club based at Bronte Beach in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, founded in June 2016 by Trent Knox and Todd Liubinskas. The club is named after the 440-meter loop that runners repeat, which includes a challenging hill providing a rewarding fitness test. It welcomes runners of all ages, abilities, and speeds, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment without fees or memberships. Meeting early on Saturday mornings, participants run or walk the loop together, enjoying stunning coastal views, the sound of ocean waves, and the vibrant atmosphere of Bronte Beach. After the run, members often take a dip in the ocean pool and socialize at nearby cafés, strengthening community ties. The 440 has grown from a small group to a lively weekly gathering of over 200 people, offering a unique blend of exercise, camaraderie, and connection with Sydney’s beach culture. It’s more than just running—it’s about building friendships and experiencing the natural beauty of the Eastern Suburbs.
