About the Event
Join in our monthly Lyell Iffla working bee. We will be composting, weeding, planting, watering and harvesting produce. Bring along your full bokashi bin if you would like to bury the contents!
What to expect
Meet at the raised garden beds in the park. The working bee leader will guide volunteers in the tasks to be done. Being a pair gardening gloves. Simple tools such as a pair of snips/secateurs and a trowel can be handy too. We meet in all weather so dress according to the conditions. No gardening experience required - just a willingness to have a go!
South Melbourne Sustainability Group
We are an enthusiastic group of volunteers passionate about growing food and composting waste at four community garden sites in South Melbourne and surrounds.
We host friendly working bees twice a month for composting, planting and garden maintenance while chatting and spending time with neighbours - all are welcome to come along! Bring along gloves, a trowel and garden snips if you have them.
Volunteers are also needed to water and check on the garden beds between working bees.
